Are your puppies born and raised in your home?

All puppies are born and raised in our home.  We assist the mom, if needed, during the birth of each puppy.  They are handled and loved from the moment of their birth.  We keep up with the latest research on care, breeding, and training.  Our goal is to raise healthy, well socialized puppies with the characteristics and traits that reflect their breed.

May we visit your home to see the puppies and pick the one we want?

Yes, you may visit just let us know, and we will schedule a time for you.
Yes, you can pick your puppy, but adopters that pay a deposit have first choice.  Our deposit is 300 which is applied to your purchase price, but is non refundable.

What about traveling with your Golden Doodle

If you travel often you will find it easy and pleasant to take your Golden Doodle with you.  They have a strong desire to be with their humans.  Their temperament make them welcome at dog allowed hotels, marinas, and campgrounds.

Are Golden Doodles  good guard dogs?

No, they will alert you about an arrival of someone new, but they regard most people as friends.  Their barking might startle or discourage a prowler, but it would be difficult to imagine someone being frightened by a Golden Doodle.

Are Golden Doodles good with children?

They are excellent with children.  Their tendency to interact with their owners makes them an especially close friend and confidant for a child. They enjoy  playtime and activity.  You will need to supervise small children so that they do not harm the puppy.

What about grooming what is necessary for the Golden Doodle?

Brushing at least once a month giving special attention around the ears, and under their legs for mats is recommended.  Do not bathe them until mats have been brushed out.  Use a purple shampoo such as Lady Clairol shimmer lights for gray hair to make their coats white and clean, and Pantene works well as a conditioner.  Do not bathe to often it will dry their hair out.  Be sure to rinse thoroughly. You can use a hair dryer on a medium setting and brush when hair is almost dry.   Always mist the hair before brushing to prevent excessive hair breakage.  A pin brush works best.  Nails will need to be clipped and the hair between their pads can be trimmed.  A haircut every 6-8 weeks will keep the coat short for easier care.

Temperament?

Intelligent, obedient, devoted to family,  sociable and happiest when with people; likely to get into mischief and develop behavior  problems if left alone to much.  If you work it is recommended that you have two dogs.

Are they easy to train?

Yes, their intelligence, eagerness to please, and love of learning make them very easy to train, and make them good candidates for therapy dogs.

What is the difference between a F1 and a F1B?

A F1 is a Poodle mixed with a Golden Retriever.  A F1 B is a Golden Doodle mixed with a poodle.  A F1 B usually produces a more hypoallergenic coat.

What is the age span and health problems.

The average age span for a standard Golden Doodle is 13-15 years.  Doodles can develop hip dysplasia, but it is not as common because they are mixed with the poodle.

Where are you located?

We are 40 miles Southeast of Atlanta Georgia.  We have a few acres that we share with squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, hawks and numerous birds.  Our Doodles love watching the birds and the squirrels at the bird feeder.
